Stabilising Service

Description

We can stabilise up to 10 blocks at a time, usual size is 128 x 30 x 45 they need to be a bit bigger.

Our tank dimensions are 180mm Diameter Depth 250mm

After the initial pressure tank treatment each block is wrapped in foil and baked at 90c for at least 10 minutes.

Some fluid leaches out and is Harden as well.

We the then sand the block on one front face side. Giving us a good guide to run the through our bandsaw.

Please note below is the best types of wood for stabilising

Spalted Elm – Poplar Burl – Box Elder – Curly Birch – Spalted Maple – Spalted Beech – Sycamore – Pine

Harder Woods do not stabilise well.
